The Old Testament is often maligned as an outmoded and even dangerous text.

Prominent atheists like Richard Dawkins go so far as to argue that the Old Testament is a violent and oppressive book, and therefore has little or no value in how we understand the world. This conference, led by Dr. Iain Provan, will demonstrate how these criticisms of the Old Testament are not only mistaken, but also miss out on what the Old Testament offers us.

The Old Testament addresses the key questions of life: Who is God? Who am I? Why is there evil and suffering in the world? As it turns out, the Old Testament is far more dangerous than modern critics even suppose - its dangers are the bold claims it makes upon its readers. If you have ever been puzzled about the Old Testament and wonder how it connects to our lives today, then this conference is for you.
