Church Visit and more of God's work

Recently God has been challenging and teaching me in the area of patience through a book I'm reading, and a verse mentioned is, Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him. Psalm 37:7.  By seeing our complete need for and dependence on Him, we find that waiting patiently for Him is the perfect place that He has designed for us to be.  Usually when I get impatient with things, it's when I'm not trusting God in the situation and in His timing- and the fact that it might really be me that God is waiting on...  But prayer is definitely a place that we can learn patience, and see the fruit of it by the way God works through our prayer.  Thank you for your continued prayers, for coming before the Lord, and patiently waiting to see how He will work in our midst.

Resting in Him,

Andrew & Megan

Prayer Requests:

1. Church visit- our church visit for Oct. 2 was pushed back to this weekend, Oct. 9.  We are excited to be visiting this new church, and pray that we will be able to connect with the people God puts in our path there, and be sensitive to the Lord if He would have us continue to come to this church.

2. "Blow out"- on Sunday we are attending a birthday party, or "blow-out" as they call it here in the Philippines, for one of our teachers.  Please pray that this will be a good time for us to learn more about the people and culture we interact with here, and that we'll be able to deepen the relationship with our teacher through this time!

3. Typhoon- please continue to pray for those effected by the typhoon here in the Philippines.  We had another typhoon come through just three days after the last one we wrote you about, which caused quite a bit of damage as well.  Many people have lost their homes, and for those that live in the provinces, have lost their crops- which is their livelihood.  Pray we will continue to lift up the people of this country before the Lord, and that they will come to know Him.

Praise:

1. Andrew's visit with Intoy who was mentioned in the last prayer update went really well, and they are planning to see each other again.  Please continue to pray for a church for Intoy to connect with.

2. A very important box- we praise God for the big and little things, so I just want to write that we thank God for getting the box here to Manila that Megan's mom sent in August.  It had all her maternity clothes in it, and now she is able to wear much more comfortable clothes for the growing belly/baby- yeah for elastic waistbands!

3.  Brenna- our daughter had her one year check-up/shots last week, and is healthy and growing well!  A few months ago Brenna's rate of growth was a little down, but after boosting her food intake she is gaining weight great and keeping us very busy!  Praise God for the way He cares for our children, and the privilege it is that He puts them in our care!
