Lent: A Season of Returning
An Invitation to Lent:
Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. But what is it? At the heart of Lent is a season of returning to the Lord. The prophet Joel reminds us of God’s call to repentance: “And yet even now,” says the Lord, “return to me with all your heart.”
Lent marks a six-week journey of drawing closer to God and seeking him with greater intensity. To see Lent as a call to “give up some creature comfort,” is to wildly miss the point. Rather, Lent is an invitation to return to God with all our hearts.
We would like to invite you into this season of returning – beginning this Wednesday and carrying through until Easter.
