Aloha from Kona, my Church Ohana!

The past months have been incredible—by no exaggeration, some of the hardest and richest months of my life.

I am currently 6 months through the 9-month course through YWAM called the School of Biblical Studies in Kona, Hawaii. For 9 months we read the entire Bible roughly 5 times using the inductive Bible Study (IBS) method. The IBS method involves approaching the Bible with the understanding that the Bible was written for us, but not to us, and therefore understanding the Bible through the lens (the culture, circumstance, etc.) of the original audience of every book of the Bible. Not only do we read it, but we study and map and chart it – and get lectures from theologians, archaelogists, historians, and other experts of the Bible.

We have just finished the entire Old Testament and are now in the Gospels! It is such a precious gift to be able to literally study the Word day and night, encounter God through it and really get to know Him and be known by Him.

Thank you to all that have supported me in prayer and financially these past months, I am so grateful.

At the end of June, when the lecture phase of my course is completed, I will be going on outreach. For my outreach I will be travelling to the Solomon Islands to staff and teach a Bible school for the people there. My team and I will be helping disciple and lead our class through the entire bible in 3 months. We will be creating the space to help them encounter and know God, and bring back that head and heart knowledge to teach in their own communities.

I would be so grateful for your prayers during this time…

  • For endurance for the final 3 months of lecture phase: the School of Biblical Studies takes a lot of physical and emotional energy. Please pray for health and energy to continue to press in and study the Word with all I have.
  • For my outreach team: while our team is small, it is very diverse. I would be grateful if you would pray for unity in our team, that we would learn to love and support each other well as we lead the Bible school.
  • For financial provision for outreach: I would be grateful if you would prayerfully consider supporting me.

Thank you all for your support, I am so grateful to be able to call you all my Ohana (the Hawaiian word for “family”).

With Love,
Danielle Wray
