Father Hear Our Prayer

I'm delighted to share this collected prayer song with you, hoping it encourages you and evokes your own prayers. It "collects" the prayer of the local church in North Vancouver, but also looks wider to Canada and the world.

I invited my friends Paul Lee, Jordan Chanin, and Adam Wray to contribute by writing prayers for an aching world, particularly regarding COVID-19 related concerns. The prayers are nestled within sung choruses which were sung by Abigail Agnes, Tom Kanwischer, Natasha Stobbe, Nathan Harada, and myself. Over some digital instrumentation play the real instrument performances of Jina Lee, Daniel Son, and Chloe Thicke.

I was inspired to do this by a music video by The Brilliance, which is another collection of socially interested prayers in between sung choruses. I share this song, believing in the idea, and hoping to inspire the creation of more like it.
