Dear North Shore Alliance,

During this time of readjusting health and safety procedures, we wanted to let you know what is happening at our church.  At this time we are recommending you stay at home and join us for our live streamed worship.

We will be livestreaming our services at 9 am and 11 am. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to watch the livestream.

If you decide to attend the services, we will be there.

We have adjusted some of our procedures:

  • People will have an opportunity to receive hand sanitizer from our greeters (rather than the usual handshake).
  • We are recommending people sit in their family groupings and sit 2 metres apart from another family grouping (social distancing).
  • The offering baskets will be available at the back of the sanctuary at the end of the service, rather than be passed in the middle of the service.
  • The communion servers (who have thoroughly hand washed) will pass out elements rather than people taking their own (only second Sunday of the month).
  • We will no longer serving coffee and are encouraging people to exit promptly after the service.

Cleaning Procedures:

We are regularly and thoroughly wiping down all surfaces with the appropriate cleaners.  We will also be wiping down the tops of the pews (where hands often rest) between services.

  1. We would ask that if you have a cough, fever, chills, runny nose, or have recently returned from a country where COVID-19 is widespread, that you stay home and watch our service on our livestream.
  2. If you are a senior, or have underlying health conditions, please feel free to choose to watch our service online but you are welcome to attend our service if you choose.

We are staying up to date with the directions from the provincial health officer and will adjust our procedures accordingly. Currently they are allowing events with under 250 people and during spring break, neither of our services will exceed this limit. For more information see: http://www.vch.ca/about-us/news/vancouver-coastal-health-statement-on-coronavirus.

At this time, we also want to encourage you to continue to put your trust in God our creator and healer.

So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
~ Isaiah 41:10

And in the words of Jesus:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
~ Matthew 6: 25-27

Let us as a church pray together and ask God to intervene.  Please be in prayer for health care workers and first responders.

May God grant you health and give you opportunities to demonstrate His great love for the people around you.
