Connect Brunch

Connect Brunch

Wednesday, September 22, 2021

We will kick off Connect with a welcome back brunch on Sept 22nd at 9:30am.

Our study will begin Sept 29th. This fall we will read and discuss "The Listening Life - embracing attentiveness in a world of distraction" by Adam McHugh (Cost $25)

"Listening is at the heart of our spirituality, our relationships and our mission in the world.  By cultivating a posture of listening, we become more attentive and engaged with those around us.  Our lives are qualitatively different when we become listeners. Heed the call to the listening life and hear what God is doing in you and in the world"

Childcare is available during Connect. To register your child, please add their name and select "childcare" for the attendee type when filling out the Connect registration form.

Hope you will join in!

Koinonia Singles Ministry

Koinonia Singles Ministry

We are starting a new group at the church, focused on building a stronger sense of community for the single folks who attend NSAC. We are hoping to form a group of 30 'somethings' to 60 'somethings' who are divorced, widowed, single, single-parents, etc., who would like to get together once a month to do fun social activities and to make more connections with Christ followers. The activities will be varied, low or no-cost, and will occur on the first or second Saturday of the month. We think this will be a fun and exciting way to meet people and spend some free time and we hope you do too! We are going to do a trial run for 3 months to see what attendance is like and, if the group is popular, we will keep going in 2022.

Our first events are as follows:

  • Saturday, October 2 - Walk/hike in Lynn Valley Regional Park at 10:00 am
  • Saturday, November 6 - Games night, starting at 7:00 pm, at the church
  • Saturday December 4 - Christmas carols / hymns plus pot-luck desserts, 7:00 pm, at the church

If you are interested, please contact us at nsackoinonia@gmail.com

Volunteers Needed for Disaster Relief in BC

Volunteers Needed for Disaster Relief in BC

Thanks to generous Canadians like you, Samaritan’s Purse has been helping wildfire victims in the B.C. interior for over a month. Now, we’ve sent a second Disaster Relief Unit—a tractor trailer filled with disaster relief equipment and supplies—to the province, basing it in Vernon to help wildfire victims in that region.

Over the next weeks, hundreds of volunteers are needed to help families sift through the ashes of their homes to recover valuables and treasured belongings. Will you consider volunteering to serve those who are hurting?

We provide full training, safety equipment, and expert team leaders. You can learn more and register to serve at SamaritansPurse.ca/Volunteer. Please also forward this email to others you know who might be interested.

Groups interested in coming for week-long deployments, can contact us at canadianrelief@samaritan.ca.

Thank you for your prayers for those devastated by these fires and for our teams as they help homeowners start their long journey to recovery.
