Kim & Brenden Vowell - January 2022

Brenden and Kim Vowell are full-time directors of Project Samuel in Zambia.

Project Samuel seeks to impact the lives of children trapped and oppressed by poverty, abuse, and abandonment, through ministering to the complete child: Body, Mind and Spirit.

Project Samuel also serves the communities of rural Zambia through educational & sports programs designed for children, as well as discipleship training and local church support programs.

Please join us in praying for the Vowells and their ministry:

  • We are in need of 10 new child sponsors at the moment. Please pray with us, that we would see more sponsors for these children!
  • Pray for the continued health and safety of the Vowells and the Project Samuel kids, volunteers, and surrounding communities!

The Sanctuary Course

The Sanctuary Course

Would you like to learn more about mental health? Would you value connecting with others? Sign up for The Sanctuary Course and explore a topic that is more relevant than ever.

Mondays, January 17 to March 7
7:00-8:30pm at the church
Facilitated by Mardi Dolfo-Smith and Brenda Martin

About the course:
The Sanctuary Course is an eight-part course for small groups designed to raise awareness and start conversations in local churches regarding mental health. It offers communities a base of shared knowledge and the opportunity to discover a common language for talking about mental health.

Topics covered include: mental health and mental illness, stigma, the recovery journey, companionship, self-care, and the role of community. Each theme is covered from a psychological, social, and theological angle, and each session includes a short film that tells the story of a person of faith with mental health challenges.

Life Announcements

Life Announcements

Staying connected with one another has been challenging during COVID.  Let's share news of significant life events within our church family to foster a rekindling of community and to pray and praise God in our lives.  If you would like to let the church community know of a recent birth, engagement/marriage or death in our NSA family, please email info@nsac.bc.ca by noon on Thursday each week. Your announcement will be added to our e-bulletin (please send a photo if you would like one to be included).

Financial Update

Financial Update

We are grateful to you, and to God, for the ongoing generosity of your giving.  As we came to the end of the 2021 calendar year, we received some unexpected financial gifts.  We will be seeking God’s direction in how to use these funds to further the ministry of North Shore Alliance both locally and globally.

If you have any questions about the church finances, please contact Tami Cooke at tamic@nsac.bc.ca
