Installation Service for Pastor Jeremy

Installation Service for Pastor Jeremy

Sunday, March 13, 2022

On Sunday, March 13th at the 9 & 11 am services, we will have an Installation Service for our new Lead Pastor, Jeremy Rios.

We will celebrate this occasion together as the family of God, and District Superintendent Mark Peters will bless Jeremey in his new role at North Shore Alliance Church.  We hope you can join us as we welcome him to our church and to the community!

Trek for Hope 2.0

Trek for Hope 2.0

NSAC MISSIONS FUNDRAISER: TREK for HOPE 2.0!

As a church, we want to combine our love for exploring God’s creation with our love for helping other people. So we're asking you to join us in the TREK for HOPE fundraiser - raising funds to support our local and global missionaries.

WHAT: Choose an adventure of choice that you are going to commit to along with a distance target. (ex. Trail running for 21kms)

WHERE: The North Shore is our playground! But really anywhere your adventure takes you!

WHEN: The two weeks over spring break March 12-27, 2022.

The proceeds of the Trek for Hope Fundraiser will go to:

  1. LAZARUS COMMUNITY HOUSE: providing local housing for marginalized members of Vancouver metro area, work resources, and spiritual care
  2. PROJECT SAMUEL:  To support Kim and Brendan Vowell at Project Samuel in Zambia. Funds raised will support their educational needs to buy school supplies and help support their grads with college funds! This project is home to 25 orphaned and at risk children. The project exists to love, care, and equip the children and surrounding communities in great need.

Sunday Service Update

Updated Protocols for Sunday Services (Starting Mar 11th, 2022)

In light of the Provincial changes effective March 11, we will no longer be limiting our services to 50% capacity, and nor will we require masks for our worship gatherings.

Throughout the Covid season, NSA has been a church that attempts to hold a middle line between Covid-extremes. Our policies have been chiefly governed by a sense of care for our community. While we rejoice in this relaxation of restrictions, we also recognize that this long season of extraordinary health precautions will doubtless leave many of our members with a lingering sense of caution.

Therefore, if you feel more comfortable masking when coming to church, your mask will be welcome. If you feel comfortable without a mask at church, we request that you treat people who wear masks with courtesy and kindness.

Pastors Jeremy Rios and Dave Sattler

Support for Ukraine

Support for Ukraine

When the invasion of Ukraine started, the flood of refugees began to pour into Poland.

Polish church leadership have shared news of the massive endeavor to welcome and care for these refugees. And as a result, every possible location is being used to house, clothe and feed the people who have fled the bombing and destruction.

The Alliance Canada - Support for Ukrainian Refugees

The Alliance Canada's National Ministry Centre is set up to receive donations for Ukraine relief.

The NMCs first response will be through the national church body, The Church of Christ in Poland. They have a department called Good Works Mission that will oversee the relief response. Bill Finnemore, a former International Worker in Poland, is well connected with the leaders there, and will be our liaison. He spoke with the director of the Good Works Mission department and learned that the national church campground, Ostróda Camp, is currently providing temporary housing for 180 refugees and they are planning to set up shelters for many more. Local churches are preparing to distribute food and necessary hygiene supplies as a first response.

Make a Donation

If you would like to join the relief effort, here are two options:

1.) Click here to donate online

2.) Designate on your offering envelope "Alliance Global Emergency Response Fund, Ukraine Relief".

Parking Update

Parking Update

You may notice some new signs up in our parking lot! We are loving our neighbours by sharing our parking lot with the nearby North Van Rec Centres and Centennial Theatre until mid-June.  Please feel free to continue parking in any available spot on Sunday mornings.  During the week, those with mobility issues can park in the front near the church, and we encourage others to park in row 6 or above.

Financial Update

Financial Update

We are grateful to you, and to God, for the ongoing generosity of your giving.  At the end of the 2021 calendar year, we received some unexpected financial gifts.  We will be seeking God’s direction in how to use these funds to further the ministry of North Shore Alliance both locally and globally.

If you have any questions about the finances at NSAC, please contact Tami Cooke at tamic@nsac.bc.ca
