Lead Pastor Search Update

Dear NSAC family,

We are excited to announce to you that the board has decided to put forward a name to candidate for the position of Lead Pastor:
John Fortune.

John is currently pursuing a Master of Theology at Regent College, having completed his Bachelor’s degree at Pacific Life Bible College. He’s an ordained minister through the Alliance in Canada and has completed Alliance Lead Pastor Training. For the past six years, John has served as an Associate Pastor at Coquitlam Alliance Church, where he’s led a variety of ministry departments and played a key role in launching and pastoring the Evening Service. John has also completed the C2C Church Planter Incubator program and regularly provides pulpit supply to several churches in the Greater Vancouver area, where he’s had the opportunity to preach and share the gospel with different congregations, further expanding his pastoral experience.

John is married to Tiffany, and they have three daughters: Eleanor, Charlie, and Jubilee. As a family, they are committed to living out their faith in practical ways, seeking to serve both their church and community.

Candidating December 4-8, 2024

As part of the discernment process, John will be candidating at NSAC from December 4-8, 2024. There will be time for him and the staff to get to know one another, as well as time to connect with many of our ministry leaders.

On Sunday, December 8th, John will preach at both the 9am & 11am services. Everyone is invited back to the church at 6:30pm that evening for a meet and greet with John, including time for the congregation to ask him questions.

Feedback Survey

Throughout the process, a feedback survey will be available for you to share your thoughts about where you feel God is leading NSA in regards to John. The Lead Pastor Profile outlining the key character qualities, competencies/skills, and leadership style we are looking for is available below for your reference.

The Board will take time to carefully consider all of your responses as we continue to discern what God is saying before we make a final decision on whether or not John is the right person for this position. If you feel there are any significant concerns during the process, you can contact the Elders Board at our email: elders@nsac.bc.ca.

Please continue to pray for us as we take these next critical steps in this process.

Thank You!
